Indie Music

Indie music is a type of alternative rock which exists in the independent music world. The word is periodically used to refer to all underground music, and is the opposite of indie pop music. Indie rock music places an emphasis on electric instruments such guitars and drums. Musicians in the genre are also known for using abstract sounds. The term indie rock is used because musicians work under smaller record labels instead of the major record companies.

Though indie rock isn't technically a genre, it is considered to represent the underground culture in many aspects. Indie artists are known for demanding a large amount of creative control over their music, and this is something which often alienates them from larger companies. Indie artists will strictly rely on word of mouth, tours, and independent radio stations in order to promote their music. Many of the popular artist will end up becoming popular with mainstream audiences, and may be signed by large record labels.

In the US indie music is considered to be a spin off from alternative rock. The movement is believed to have been started during the 1970s or 1980s. The indie rock music of the 1980s had a sounds which were described as being heavy and distorted. By the 1990s, indie music groups such as Nirvana and Pearl Jam became mainstream, and the genre became more widespread. Once the genre became popular, major record companies begin investing large amounts of money in it.

Once this happened, the term "alternative rock" became more of a misnomer. Traditionally, many musicians who have signed with major record companies were considered to be "sell outs" by their hardcore fans. My Original Music is a indie music site located at myoriginalmusic.com. Here you can find music by independent artists from all over the world. Today, indie rock is a term which has come to describe a wide variety of music. The term indie rock has been applied to psychedelic folk, synth-pop, and post-punk.

Sometimes the term indie rock becomes blurred, and some believe that the word will soon disappear much like alternative rock did. Mainstream artists such as Britney Spears and the Backstreet Boys have been known to reach high levels on the indie music charts, especially in the United Kingdom. Some mainstream artists have even been signed to independent record labels. Many popular indie music artist become mainstream, and once this happens, they are no longer independent.

Despite the fact that many indie artists become mainstream, this is not always the case. In fact, most independent artists are not mainstream, and do not wish to be. Money may be a motivating factor, but many artists play their music for the passion and not the money. Many major record labels exert a large amount of control over their artists, and the music which is sold is more often the product of the record companies than the artists themselves. Because of this, many artists have fought with the major record labels over creative control of their music.

Great Sound System

If you are a singer or a pastor who often stands and speaks in front of a sea of faces, it is essentially important to consider having the appropriate quality of an ideal sound system. Large groups of people could mean more chaos, more unwanted conversations, more ears to manage. Henceforth, to be able to let each and every one to hear what you are saying, you must have a good pa system that will give your words or lyrics more clarity, power, and depth. It is also important that you are hearing yourself well as much as they are hearing you.

A lot of people think that simpler sound systems are better, particularly if you do not have the budget to hire an av technician. This is not always the case, however. Straightforward PA systems are good for parties in your friends basement, but by investing a little bit of money in a multi-speaker surround sound system, you can really take things to the next level. This is especially true if you are going to have multiple musicians playing at the same time. With a big band, sound monitors are almost a necessity. Without them, no one will hear any one else playing, and the sound will be muddled and unclear.

Of course, bigger is not always better with your sound system. Sometimes, a single small tube amp speaker will cut it better than a big PA. If you are playing dirty, crunchy rock with a 3 piece band, this can be the best choice. There are times when high fidelity is not where it's at . For times like that, a small sound system will take you where you want to be. You do not need a lot of power, or a lot of clarity just a peddle, a mic, and some screaming tubes!

So depending on the event and location, one must choose the proper PA system. In churches, the sound must be delivered in a less trebly tone and everything to be in striking a perfect balance. So don’t commit the mistake just by settling for any kind of sound system there is without analyzing what the needs of the event are.

No.1 Mp3 Download Site On The Web Went Belly Up, Where Do You Download Mp3s Now?

allofmp3.com RIP……. Since the death knell rang for the extraordinarily admired (and consequently proved to be legal) mp3 download site, music download fans all over the planet have been looking for a trustworthy alternative to allofmp3.

Tens of sites appeared virtually overnight to capitalise on the hunger of thousands of mp3 download fans, all promising the same high quality, low cost music store experience. Unfortunately most of these sites were appallingly poor, offering low quality rehashes of other sites’ libraries, and often being unavailable at no notice.

So what were the criteria that had thousands frequently recharging their accounts at the premier download site before it was enforced to shutdown?

In essence, the tracks were economical & the quality very superior, and the music collection was considerable - ranging from all modern new releases of all music styles, to the latest charts and an impressive back catalogue of albums stretching back to the sixties. And all tracks were DRM free, meaning they could be played on any mp3 player.

Those new sites had a lot to live up to…….………………….

The majority of them didn’t!

So where do you download mp3s currently?

By and large, you have two options when it comes to finding low price, high quality music on the internet. Pay per download or file sharing.

With pay per download, it is customary to charge your account in advance (by means of a credit card), and this amount is then reduced as you buy music. Once your account is at zero you can charge your account once more and keep going. Some sites offer incentives of extra tracks or bonus credits if you credit your account at a specific level (say $30). Before you do this, always try to ensure the site has enough music to cover your credit, and more notably has been around long enough that you’re happy it isn’t going to disappear overnight……

File sharing has been here since well before allofmp3. Basically you join a network, where each person on the network allows sharing of some or all of their individual mp3s (also movies, games etc). If the network is large, you have access to literally millions of files to share (or download for free, depending on your point of view). In the early days these sites were free to use, but subsidised themselves with masses of maddening adware, and in some cases, spyware.

If file sharing is the way you want to go, join a network that is guaranteed to be clear of adware and spyware. These networks charge a small membership, but then all downloads are at no cost.

Even though the dust has settled somewhat and (most of) the cowboys have moved on, there is still unreliable quality in the level of sites that remain. Bookmark this allofmp3 substitute review site- It observes the current players, and recommends the best allofmp3 alternative.

Do You Have What It Takes To Learn To Read Music?

You probably remember those dreaded aptitude tests in school. You know,
those tests that revealed your abilities to perform certain tasks?

Well, it's time to stop dreaming, and put your desire to learn music to the test.

The desire for music is within you, but do you really have what it takes to learn to read music? Discover your own musical capabilities below.

Musical Talent or Not - Does it Matter?

You may not be able to read music right now. You most likely cannot pick up a flute, a guitar or a violin and play a beautiful melody. Even so, everyone around you is always saying how musically talented you are.

Perhaps you can memorize musical tunes on key upon hearing them, create an original song in your mind, or maybe even play an instrument or two without really knowing how to read the music. These are all indications of having natural musical talent.

But, do you have the potential to achieve music?

Even if you have none of the musical abilities above, you can still learn to read music.

Where "natural talent" doesn't exist, learned musical skills can still be used to make beautiful music. Your love and desire for learning and achieving music is what will make the difference whether you have natural talent or not.

Think of your present career. If you pursued what you loved, you were able to
achieve the skill through learning, right? If you're a typist, you learned to type.

If you're a nurse, you went to nursing school.. If you're a mechanic, you attended
a technical school to achieve this. To read music, you must learn it as well.

Question #1: Do I love music enough to learn how to read music and play a musical instrument?

Learning to Read Music for Adults

If you missed out on music lessons as a child or simply forgot what you
learned, it's not too late to develop musical skills. Adults can learn to read
music. In truth, a person who has a real desire to learn might achieve more than a child who is being pushed to learn.

Why? As an adult, you already understand the great potential of having this skill. Having a passion for music will drive you to practice often and develop your skills quickly. Only those adults and children who have a desire to continue with music will actually achieve the skill for life!

Question #2: Are you willing to learn music and be dedicated to practice at this stage of your life?

A Goal for Your Music Skills

Another determining factor for learning to read music is your reason for
learning. There should be a goal in mind while developing this skill. Whether
it's to play an instrument in church, at special gatherings or to have a career in
music, you should have a goal in mind.

With a goal, you'll be pushed to learn even when you don't feel like taking a lesson. This is similar to taking college courses.
You attend the classes because you must if you are going to have a successful
career in that field.

Question #3: Do you have a goal or reason for learning to read music?

If you answered "Yes" to all of the above, read the questions below.

Which instrument do I want to play?
If a skilled music teacher is not available, am I willing to teach myself through online training?
When my music lessons begin, can I dedicate at least 15 to 30 minutes per day to practice?

If you answered "Yes" to all these questions, you're ready to pursue music
lessons.

Start developing your musical skills today to discover a life-long
treasure!

Are You Looking For Incredible Guitar Solo Lessons? Learn To Play Lead Guitar Starting Today!

Are you looking for a killer lead guitar lesson program? Do you to learn how to play lead guitar from a real pro? Great guitar solo lessons can go a long way to helping you learn to lead your band to the promised land. A good lead guitarist can show off his style by strutting his/her best riffs, licks, and tricks… Be it a killer solo, lick, or toned down riff…. Mastering certain techniques to help you actually create these riffs and licks is the only way to excel your lead guitar ability….

You need to learn some of the following techniques if you haven’t already:

Vibrato, Legato, Half Bends, Ghost Bends, Whole Bends, Runs, and Motifs.

Luckily, a guy named Ben Edwards has developed a multi-media ‘learn to play lead guitar’ course called Jamorama Lead. Jamorama Lead is on the cutting edge of guitar training. Ben covers the basics of theory for lead guitar, allowing you to master the skills that will make you an absolutely incredible lead guitarist. In my opinion, the best thing about Jamorama Lead is that it is FUN!

There are some killer techniques taught in Jamorama Lead… some were mentioned above, but you can learn much more just from Ben’s experience. He will lay out some important techniques used by lead guitarists. Ben is a professional lead guitarist and session player. He has his own recording studio and has played internationally in front of thousands.

Not only that, but Ben is a certified teacher with a teaching degree. He has taught guitar for many years and has a wealth of experience to draw from – Ben decided to study some of the best books available in the industry and was driven to create a revolutionary ‘learn to play lead guitar’ system that would make things easier for the player! Ben found that most systems relied on older technology and traditional methods such as repetitive drilling…. I’m not saying that drills are a bad thing, but should they be the basis for your guitar solo lessons? I don’t think so… A guitarist needs to be able to interact many scales into different patterns… flexibility is very important. Drilling can result in too many set patterns for a guitarist, resulting in one dimensional playing.

Most traditional guitar lesson systems are boring! Jamorama Lead helps to make you guitar training fun and is a truly rewarding experience. Learn from videos that really break down the techniques used, and then use the Jam Tracks to implement those techniques with creativity and success.

The bottom line is this: Ben Edwards is a guitar god AND YOU CAN BE TOO! He has developed an absolutely incredible lead guitar learning system that will transform your playing ability. If you are looking to learn to play lead guitar, Jamorama Lead will help… check out this page that shows some of the benefits to Jamorama and a couple of testimonials. Jamorama Lead works…. How To Find Cool Tattoo Designs

If you're thinking of getting a tattoo, chances are you're looking for that perfect tattoo design. Choosing a tattoo design can be time-consuming, not least because getting inked is a major step, and you obviously need to find a design that you can live with for the rest of your life. So it makes sense to take your time and check out as many designs as possible before you make your decision.

So, where do you look for great tattoo designs? You can visit your local tattoo parlours, which will have a range of tattoo artwork on the walls, as well as books of designs that you can look through. The problem with this approach is that you'll only have a limited selection of designs to choose from, depending on what’s available at the shops you visit. You’re also more likely to end up getting the same design as someone else, which may not be something you want.

As an alternative, you can look on the web for tattoo designs. There are millions of designs scattered around the web, so you won’t go short of ideas here! There is a downside though, in that many of the online tattoo galleries have poor quality designs and/or poor quality images, so you may have to wade through some garbage to find the really good artwork.

However, there are a range of very high quality sites that offer high resolution, professionally designed tattoo artwork, and the best of these allow you to download the designs and print them off. This obviously makes it easy to take your design to the tattoo artist, and gives him or her a high quality picture from which to work.

The sites which offer the best quality printable tattoo designs are sometimes free to access, but in many cases you'll find that free tattoo design sites carry a lot of substandard work. If you want to save time and find the best printable designs quickly and easily, you might consider joining one of the tattoo membership sites, where for a small fee you can gain access to their archives of top notch designs. Most reputable sites only charge a single fee for lifetime access to the site's updates, and all will offer a money-back guarantee if you're not satisfied.

For more information about where to find printable tattoo design ideas, as well as what to look for when joining a tattoo design membership site, check out my lens on the topic. You might also like to visit TattooMeNow, which is in my opinion the best place to find tattoo designs online, as it offers not only thousands of excellent professional designs, but there is also a vibrant online community of fellow tattoo enthusiasts, plus tattoo-related videos and other interesting resources.
